Spring Break at Disneyland

As previously posted, Bree and I were at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. And like what everyone does at these theme parks, we joined the long and short queues to the rides. At California Adventure park, our favorite ride is Soarin' Over California. We went on this twice! It's really great, you soar over all the great places in California (hence, the name of the ride). It's our all-time favorite.

Over at Disneyland park, we rode Gadget Coaster two times also. It's a rollercoaster for kids. We also went on Big Thunder Mountain which is a western style semi-rollercoaster. It has dips and curves, but not as fast as real rollercoasters. Bree managed it just fine.

They have a new ride, which is Buzz Astro Blasters. This is kinda fun, too. It's for little kids but you have a "gun" and you shoot at targets while your spaceship is moving.

We also rode on the classic rides: Pinocchio, Mr Toad's Wild Ride, It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Star Tours (one of my favorites). And watched some shows like "It's Tough to be a Bug" and "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience." We loved these shows, with it's special effects.

We watched a few parades. At California Adventure, there's Disney's Electrical Parade and Block Party (all new-ish characters like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Bug's Life, etc). And at Disneyland, there was Parade of Dreams (typical Disney characters - princesses, etc).

As you can tell, our 2 full days at Disneyland were so tiring. But oh so worth it, though. For the kids and kids at heart.

Easter Sunday 2006, part 2

After our morning mass and easter egg hunt, Bree and I went to LollaSing's house for our family easter party. Potluck party - we brought Chapche (Korean noodles). No, i didn't make it, i ordered it.

Bree had her second round of easter-egg hunting. She got a lot of eggs, and even found $1 bill in one of those eggs.

Easter Sunday 2006

Easter Egg Hunt at St. Robert Bellarmine courtyard...

Started off with Sunday mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. I dropped Bree off at 8:15 for their choir practice. I entered the church at 8:40am, and it was packed! I thought i was early, because the mass doesn't start until 9am. But it was almost standing room only by 8:40.

After the mass, there was an Easter Egg Hunt at the school courtyard for kids age 10 and under. Cousins Jared and Tamara were also there. Obviously, they had a lot of fun.

The Real Question

Bree and I were at the Disneyland Resort from Monday thru Wednesday. We exited California Adventure to rest for a couple of hours at our hotel. While exiting the park, we saw the tram parked at the designated spot and i told Bree to hurry up so the tram won't leave us.

I said, "Bree, let's hurry. Can you run?"

Bree said, "Momma, the question is.... can YOU run????"

Mommy is now reading...

the five people you meet in heaven

I borrowed this book from my niece (or actually, Clay's niece), Michelle.

Thanks Michelle! I am loving every page of it.

Holy Week in America

Holy Week 2006:

Thursday 12:30 - picked up Sabrina from school. Because it's Holy Thursday, it's a "short" day today.

Friday - no school for Bree, which means no work for me (i took the day off, but it's really a normal working day here in the States). Had my nails done at 10am. Then we went to Northridge mall (to window shop for a new fridge). Then went to St. Roberts in Burbank for their 3pm Stations of the Cross. And after, we just stayed home. Watched a DVD - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Oh, and played one round of Monopoly (i lost).

Fasting and Abstinence that day, so i had goldilocks mamon in the morning, one slice of cheese pizza at lunch, then clam chowder for dinner.

Saturday - we had an early lunch at Chuck E. Cheese (around 10:30). We had a coupon for "buy $10 worth of tokens, and get another $10 for free" so we decided to use it. She had a blast, of course. She won 453 tickets, and redeemed it for: a frisbee, a slinky, a whoopie cushion and a toy airplane model-type. We were home by 1pm (after running a couple of errands).

In the Philippines, Holy Week would mean total silence and meditation, no laughing, no TV, no piano-playing (at least when we were kids).

p.s. Lord, i'm sorry for not keeping your week Holy-er than it should be.
