Solvang Trip

We decided to take a short weekend trip to Solvang. Our timeshare vacation club has a new building in Solvang, and i was able to reserve a one-bedroom unit.

Solvang is the Danish capital of America...windmills, tulips, wooden clogs, etc. It's a small town, you can tour the entire Solvang in just half a day.

Aebleskiver - pancakes shaped like a ball, topped with jam and powdered sugar. That's what we had for breakfast. It's a Danish specialty. It sounds heavenly, doesn't it?

Breesmom is currently reading...

The Wedding
by Nicholas Sparks
I have never read a Nicholas Sparks book, although i know that a lot of people absolutely adore his writings, and the movies have been very good chick flicks.
I have only seen one of the movies - A Walk to Remember, with Mandy Moore. And it was such a heart-wrenching film, so nakaka-in-love. After seeing the movie, i so wanted to order "sweet tea" from a restaurant.
Back to the book i am reading, this is like a spin-off from Sparks' previous book, The Notebook, which was a blockbuster movie. I should have read that first.
After thirty years of marriage, Wilson Lewis, son-in-law of Allie and Noah Calhoun (of The Notebook), is forced to admit that the romance has gone out of his marriage. Desperate to win back his wife, Jane's, heart, he must figure out how to make her fall in love with him... again.
Despite the shining example of Allie and Noah's marriage, Wilson is himself a man unable to easily express his emotions. A successful estate attorney, he has provided well for his family, but now, with his daughter's upcoming wedding, he is forced to face the fact that he and Jane have grown apart and he wonders if she even loves him anymore. Wilson is sure of one thing--his love for his wife has only deepened and intensified over the years. Now, with the memories of his in-laws' magnificent fifty-year love affair as his guide, Wilson struggles to find his way back into the heart of the woman he adores.

Turrones

Bree loves turrones de casoy... but just the balat part. She doesn't like the sweet and salty casoy mixture...
so she doesn't eat the casuy part, and leaves them piled up on the corners of the tin container.
